Finally the date has arrived! I am been seeing facebook posts about SEA Aquarium Wedding Events & Launch Events happening at the unique location. I must say it was with great excitement & anticipation that I accepted Xue-E & Justin's Invitation to be their Wedding Emcee-Singer!
At first, I was a little concerned as the turnover was really very late at 6.30pm. I mean I have been to other venues with late turnovers but this has to be the very first.
So I thought I would give some tips based on my experience too, so that everyone can have an understanding of how to organise an event here!
But before that, what a lovely venue!!! Plus I have been practising my special treat for the Wedding Bride- I was going to sing besides her request for 1st MarchIn "Love Will Keep Us Alive", that 1 song that comes to mind when you are at SEA Aquarium-Yap!!
UNDER THE SEA!!!
1) Work in the Fast Turnover-
Really keep it in mind when doing the event, you can see security trying to urge the visitors out of the venue, the banquet staff pushing out the tables & chairs, setting up the stage etc. it is chaotic & you must be really prepared. Sound is the last to be ready because they can't really finish setting up until banquet has finished. So I waited till it was ready, well at least the manager said that I sounded like a recording even though i was singing live-what kind compliments!!!
2) Work in some Ambient Lighting-
I do find the stage lighting a tad too harsh & overpowering, of course it is the typical pure white follow spot kind of lighting. A warmer lighting will help to enhance rather than take away from the beautiful background of moving sea creature.
3) Clear Instructions to get to Venue-
Make sure your invitation has clear instructions how to get there, including those who are coming by car. What I have here is for taxi drop offs i think, for me because I was given RWS's Manager contact, so we liaised very closely to make sure I arrive there without fuss exactly at the right parking spot!
Of course, after having the experience I am very sure how to make it a better event here!
Feel free to hit me some questions at the comments section here & I will try to help!!!
